Chorley welterweight boxing champion Michael Jennings enters the ring for his second defence of the British title in front of an expected 8,000 crowd in Nottingham on Saturday.
Jennings is hoping to continue the outstanding form he showed last year when he fights against Midlands challenger Young Muttley at the Nottingham Arena.
Once again he tops the televised ITV bill with Olympic silver-medallist and good friend Amir Khan who takes on Vitaly Martynov.
Muttley, 29, real name Lee Woodley, is a star of the Midlands boxing scene having lost only one of his 20 fights.
Jennings who was knocked down briefly in the opening round of his last fight against Bradley Pryce is hoping for a good start.
He said: "I know I've got to be ready for him because sometimes I can be a slow starter. I'll be concentrating on warming up properly beforehand and getting a good sweat on.
"My preparation has gone fine and my weight is spot on."
Jennings requires two more defences of his title to secure a sought after Lonsdale belt for keeps.
He is the current WBO number one ranked challenger to the outstanding Mexican champion Antonio Margarito.
