There are nailbiting times ahead for an ice-skating sensation who will appear in a world famous show in Manchester.

Lindsay Peralta, 33, from Moss Lane, Farington Moss, Leyland, will be hoisted up by two wires in the ice-skating extravaganza Holiday on Ice when it comes to the Manchester Evening News Arena with new show, Diamonds.

The show, choreographed by Olympic gold medallist, Robin Cousins, who is currently judging new ITV1 show Dancing On Ice, features all the best bits from the show's catalogue of hits.

Lindsay, who has had a 15 year skating career, features throughout the show but appears as a main skater in an underwater extravaganza where she flies through the air with winged skaters around her.

She has travelled around the world with the show including South Africa and across Europe and South American, where she met Argentinian husband, Martin, 28, a technician on the show.

But the former Balshaw's High School student said the Manchester shows, from February 2-5, will be nerve-wracking.

"I don't really get nervous anymore and I always get more of a buzz from the bigger crowds," said Lindsay, who trained to be a chef at Blackpool and the Fylde College before taking up ice skating professionally.

"But when I know my family will be sat there it's a different story. There's always more pressure to get things right and you want things to be perfect."

Mum, Ivy Robinson, 72, said she always believed Lindsay, the youngest of seven children, would be a success on ice.

"Her sister, Janine, took her skating at Blackpool when she was little and she took straight off," she said.

"We didn't believe it. So, her dad, Jimmy, took her the week after and saw it for himself.

"She just got better and better from then on. We're very proud."

Lindsay's three brothers, Brian, Bill and Graham and three sisters, Janine, Michelle and Kim, will all go to Manchester to see the shows.
