Thank you for raising this issue and providing the people of Chorley with the opportunity to provide their views.

I feel strongly that the town's motto should be restored to the original Beware.

I was shocked and irritated by the previous decision to change it, on the dubious basis that some people may find it unwelcoming.

This was part of our heritage and I don't appreciate meddling by the council eighteen years ago, probably on the misguided basis of trying to encourage yet more businesses and people into the area, thus causing further congestion chaos.
