A WOMAN shopworker was hit in the stomach by a street robber in Burnley who fled with several thousands of pounds of takings.
The victim was carrying the day's takings to the Post Office in Coal Clough Lane at 5pm on Monday when the robber grabbed her fake Prada handbag containing the cash.
The robber jumped into a waiting dark blue Peugeot 106 in Prestwich Street. The woman was shocked but uninjured.
Inspector Dave Croll said: "There was a group of teenagers in the area at the time and although we don't believe they had anything to do with the incident they could hold valuable information."
