WHY does Mid Pennine Arts persist in trying to foist these Panopticons on the people of East Lancashire who at best seem disinterested in them, if not totally against them?
I applaud Hyndburn Council's stance against this project.
I am sure local councils have far more urgent matters to attend to instead of the rigmarole needed to erect these structures.
If people cannot appreciate our hilly landscapes for their natural beauty, it is unlikely they will be persuaded to visit them when they are defaced with these so-called works of art.
To comment on one work in particular, when dry stone walls, which were built for a purpose, criss cross our countryside, why build NeoSCOPE, a "large sheltering wall," in Chatburn?
Spend the money on something useful!
