Mr Bachchan senior has two big movies out this month of which the second, Family Blood and Ties, should be with us by Christmas.

In the first of the releases he plays Suryaveer Singh an ex-commando who is mentally scarred from many years in the army and finds that his only comfort is drink.

His friend Shekhar (Arjun Rampal) invites Suryaveer to work with him on a security firm as a bodyguard and his first job is to protect an eight-year-old. She gets kidnapped but this time Shekhar is having none of it.

Well acted, a tense storyline and a good supporting cast.
