SHAPING the future of Burnley's 'jewel in the crown' was the aim of a trio of workshops held at Towneley Park.
The events, which concluded yesterday, were held as part of the £3.2million five-year restoration programme to rejuvenate and improve the popular tourist attraction, owned and managed by Burnley Council.
The workshops provided anyone with an interest in the park's future with the chance to contribute towards the review.
They were held over three days and covered various aspects of the plan, including car parking, access, wildlife, and sports and event provision.
Annette Birch, the council restoration plan's project manager, said: "These workshops provide everyone with an interest in Towneley Park, whether they live in the borough or not, the chance to help shape future work in the park."
Coun Colette Bailey, Burnley council's executive member for leisure, said: "The plan aims to promote Towneley as the number one visitor attraction in East Lancashire, conserve and enhance the Towneley landscape, increase the diversity of the wildlife in and around the park, and provide a wide range of activities for members of the community.
"By taking part in these workshops people will be help make that vision a reality."
