A BURNLEY man has appeared in court in connection with the discovery of cannabis resin worth more than £4million.
Sarfraz Ahmed, 29, of New Hall Street was one of three men charged with conspiracy to supply controlled drugsfollowing the discovery of 850kg of cannabis resin during raids on storage units in Salford on Wednesday.
Ahmed appeared with Arfan Mohamed, 28, of Cromer Street, Rochdale and Alexander Morris, 42, of Enston Street, Skelmersdale at Manchester City Magistrates Court yesterday.
Five further men from Manchester were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. They have all been bailed until April pending further enquiries.
