ACADEMY coach Gary Bowyer is hoping to plot the downfall of his former club tonight when Blackburn Rovers take on Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Youth.
Bowyer is relishing the chance to lock horns with the Rams at Ewood Park tonight (7pm), 18 months after he made the switch from Derby to Blackburn.
And his players also have the perfect incentive to get through, too, with a possible fifth round meeting with Chelsea awaiting tonight's winners.
"This is not about me, it's about our players playing against Derby County," said Bowyer.
"I had a good time at Derby but I've left there and moved on and so have they.
"Derby are a big, strong side, they'll be competitive and they'll be up for it because they'll see this as the chance for a Championship side to beat a Premiership one."
Rovers booked their place in the fourth round with an impressive 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the in-form Joe Garner and Jamie Clarke getting the goals.
Now Bowyer is hoping his players can rise to the occasion again in front of what he hopes will be a healthy Ewood following.
"This is a great opportunity for our players to play on Ewood and show that they are capable of playing there week in, week out," added Bowyer.
"Hopefully, they will get the opportunity to express themselves and show what they can do."
Season ticket holders can get in tonight for free, while it's £3 for adults and £1 for concessions for non-season ticket holders.
The winners will play either Chelsea or Brighton at home in the next round.
