FORMER Smiths singer Morrissey is heading out on a massive 29-date tour in the spring - and he'll be coming to Blackburn.
The gladioli-swinging Mancunian will perform at King George's Hall on May 11 to showcase his new album Ringleader Of The Tormentors, which comes out on April 3.
Morrissey is primarily known for his time as the lead singer of legendary 80s indie act The Smiths, adding witty and self-deprecating lyrics to inventive guitarist Johnny Marr on tracks like This Charming Man, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out and Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now.
Morrissey and Marr fell out and the band split in 1987, with Morrissey going on to rack up a whopping 26 top 40 solo hits, including celebrated releases like Suedehead, Everyday Is Like Sunday and The More You Ignore Me The Closer I Get.
The Smiths played in Blackburn on one of their early tours, at a venue known as the Gum Club, while Morrissey has previously played the King George's Hall in both 1991 and 2002.
Morrissey's new tour includes several more north west dates, with three gigs in Manchester, one in Salford, one in Whitehaven and one in Liverpool.
Tickets for the Blackburn gig, priced £29.50, go on sale on January 27 and are limited to four per person.
Morrissey plays King George's Hall on Thursday, May 11. Tickets are £29.50 - to book, call 0871 2200 260 or 0871 2306 230.
