A BRAVE pensioner tried to fend off attackers who barged into her home and stole cash.
When the 80-year-old woman, of Burnley Road, Todmorden, answered the door to two men, they attempted to push her out of the way.
But the elderly woman tried to block the men from getting into her home at around 2.20pm yesterday.
In their determination to get into the house, one man grabbed her and threw the elderly lady to the ground.
The attackers then made a search of the house before escaping with a quantity of cash.
The victim suffered scratches to her face and was left in shock and shaken by the incident but refused hospital treatment.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Two men were seen running across fields towards Carr Road after the incident.
"We are appealing for anybody who saw the men either before or after the incident to get in contact with police."
The first offender was white, aged between 30-35, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins, average build, short, dark, neat hair, clean shaven, wearing a charcoal grey pull-over and black trousers.
The second man was between 25 and 30 years old, slightly shorter and slimmer than the first suspect, dark short hair, wearing a navy blue jumper, dark trousers and glasses.
