POLICE are hunting a driver who knocked down an elderly woman outside her home in Oswaldtwistle.
The accident happened as the 78-year-old, a resident of Roe Greave Road, was putting out her recycling box at 7.30am last Tuesday.
The woman stepped into the road and collided with one of the queuing cars which had started to reverse.
PC Simon Bolton from the road policing unit in Accrington said the driver got out of his car to help the woman to her feet and offered to take her to hospital before leaving the scene.
She did require some hospital treatment for bruis-ing to her shoulders and legs.
PC Bolton said: "We are keen to talk to the driver. He left the scene without leaving any details."
