TWO raiders, one armed with a samurai sword, held up terrified staff at a Rossendale convenience store.
The men burst into the Late Shop, Thorneylea, Whitworth at 10.30pm.
The robbers, one brandishing the weapon, threatened staff and demanded cash from the till, before fleeing with £600.
Workers alerted police through a personal attack alarm but the raiders fled before officers arrived. Today store manager Michael Taylor, 22 -- who has only been at the Whitworth shop for a month -- said three assistants working at the shop had been left shaken by the incident but were otherwise fine.
