Residents in Euxton are still waiting for a decision over plans for a sand extraction quarry in the village.
Objectors to the plan who formed a protest group ERASE - Euxton Residents Against Sand Extraction - are waiting to hear whether the controversial application from Tarmac will go ahead at Runshaw.
However Lancashire County Council has still not made its decision on the application which had been expected to go before the development control meeting on January 31.
The county council, which has received thousands of responses from the members of the public and organisations, wrote to Tarmac last August.
County councillor Mark Perks, who represents the area, said LCC had requested more information from Tarmac before it could fully assess the proposals. He said that as of December, Tarmac had not responded.
He said: "Questions have been raised on issues such as need for the mineral, traffic, highways, amenity, groundwater, air quality, ecology, restoration and landscape."
He said that when the information was received from Tarmac, it would be advertised, so interested parties could respond before it is considered at the development control committee.
A spokesperson for the county council confirmed that the decision had been delayed pending further information.
He said: "The application will not go to committee on January 31, but a decision on the application could be made at the meeting on March 1."
