I HAD to pause when reading the letter headlined Stop moaning' in the Citizen last week, in which the writer in support of Cllr Ron Sands referred to plans for the wasteland at the old Frontierland site'.
The writer was, admittedly, a newcomer to Morecambe but should be reminded that Frontierland was doing very nicely, thank you very much, until the local council got involved and began interfering with the operation of the pleasure park.
The meddling became so much that the owners decided to up sticks and retire to their Pleasure Beach enterprise at Blackpool instead.
It is, therefore, due to council interference and mismanagement that we now have wasteland' on the promenade in the first place.
Taliking of mismanagement, I am reminded of the joint venture with Noel Edmonds and Mr Blobby. We all did really well out of that too.
Things, you might think, can only get better?
G Arkwright, Morecambe.
