THE town council is set to take over the running of Padiham's ballroom - securing its long-term future.
Padiham Town Council has been negotiating with Burnley Council to take over responsibility.
Now Burnley's executive is set to approve the plans when it meets tomorrow.
Padiham took charge of the ballroom last year after Burnley withdrew responsibility for it as part of its budget cuts.
The town council has already appointed staff. Once rubber-stamped the authority will enter into a lease with Burnley paying a rent of £1 a year.
Burnley's executive member for leisure, Coun Colette Bailey said: "Burnley and Padiham councils have come to an agreement on the long-term future running of the concert hall.
"It makes perfect sense for the town council to be responsible for the running of the hall."
