AN 86-year-old man who broke his hip when a table fell on him died in hospital more than a month later, an inquest was told.
John Entwistle, of Grange Road, Blackburn, was admitted to hospital on November 20 after injuring his hip folding the table, the hearing was told.
The retired French polisher had surgery on the hip on November 25 but his condition gradually worsened and he died on December 27, the hearing was told.
A post mortem examination gave the cause of death as a fractured femur, bronchopneumonia and the effects of heart disease.
The inquest was adjourned until March 7.
