A MAN has been charged with assault after an alleged stabbing which left a Blackburn man in hospital with serious injuries.
Daniel Warburton, 21, is alleged to have been assaulted early on New Year's Day in the Shaw Heath area of Stockport.
He was found with stab injuries in Florist Street by police who were called after reports of a disturbance.
He was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, by ambulance where he is now in a stable condition.
John Scott, 19, of Chedlee Drive, Cheadle was charged with assault and possession of cannabis when he appeared at Stockport Magistrates' Court.
He was remanded on bail to re-appear in court at a later date
Two other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released without charge.
Police have not yet revealed which area of Blackburn Mr Warburton is from or whether he has family in the area.
