MATT Jansen is on the verge of quitting Blackburn Rovers after growing frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities under manager Mark Hughes.
The 28-year-old striker, who has started just one game this season, has told the club he wants to leave so he can try to resurrect his career elsewhere.
And that wish is likely to be granted when his representative meets with chairman John Williams on Wednesday.
Referring to his intention to quit, Jansen said: "This is the hardest and yet probably the most sensible decision I have ever made.
"I love the club but what was happening was tearing me apart.
"I'm not a troublemaker and I don't kick up a stink if I'm not in the team, but enough is enough.
"I've worked hard and put in some of my best-ever training sessions, but it's like I'm invisible and no-one's watching. I respect Mark Hughes' decisions but I want to be playing."
