PEOPLE wanting to take up a new sport in 2006 can take advantage of a new diving course in Darwen.
The Darwen Branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) plans to offer 12-week courses to teach the theory and practical skills involved in diving.
Funding of £5,000 from the National Lottery will pay for the necessary training and equipment at Darwen Leisure Centre.
Anyone interested should go along to the leisure centre on Tuesday evenings from 7.45 to 10.30pm.
At the end of the course, students will be qualified BSAC Ocean divers which is worldwide recognised qualification and shows competence to dive in the UK or abroad to 20 metres.
