THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a Blackburn man.
A 21-year-old man, who has not been named by police, was discovered with a serious stab wound in Florist Street, Shaw Heath, in Stockport, early yesterday.
The man was taken by ambulance for treatment at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport where his injuries were said to be serious.
Police were called to Florist Street shortly before 6am yesterday after reports of a disturbance but refused to confirm any more details or whether a weapon had been found.
The three arrested men are all believed to be in their 20s and detectives from Greater Manchester Police were expected to continue questioning them today.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We can confirm we did attend this incident in which a man had suffered a stab wound. He was taken to the casualty department at Stepping Hill Hospital."
