After suffering defeat at the hands of Billingham Bombers last week, Hawks have a score to settle when the North East side arrive at the Arena tomorrow night (face off 6pm).
The Bombers beat Hawks 7-4 last Sunday in the first of two English Cup encounters and assistant manager Graham Lomax is out to even things up.
"I think we were probably too relaxed last week," said Lomax. "We went into the game on the back of a good run of form and complacently crept in. This time I feel we are better prepared and we will be looking for a positive result. We fear no-one at the Arena.
"Billingham are a decent side, top of the league, but we know we can beat them.
"Games between us in the past have always been close, but if we play our own game and don't give away silly penalties like we have been doing, we should be fine.
"The cup is important to us and this is a game we want to win."
Hawks beat the Bombers earlier this season in the English National Ice Hockey League (North) at the Arena, but Lomax admits that the forthcoming away ties at Billingham and Nottingham could prove tricky.
He said: "Away games are always tough and these two could be the ones that trip us up. But we have been very consistent in the league this season and can definitely count ourselves up among the top teams."
Unfortunately for Hawks, Dave Clancy, who suffered an eye injury last weekend at Billingham, will miss tomorrow's game.
