Blackburn Rovers face a difficult trip to Middlesbrough in the quarter finals of the Carling Cup but manager Mark Hughes is confident his players can win the tie.
"It's a difficult draw for us but we went to Charlton and got a positive result so there's no reason why we can't do the same against Middlesbrough.
"We are there twice in a few days so we'll know what to expect."
The draw for the FA Cup was slightly kinder, pairing Rovers at home to Queens Park Rangers in the third round on the weekend of the 6th January.
