WHAT a fiasco the pension debate is turning out to be. First we have Tony Blair asking for a full report on the future of pensions and before the report is ever published he tears it up. Why didn't he just stop at home for a couple of weeks instead of playing world president and do the report himself?
I'm sure Ms Booth would have taken time out from her human rights and public speaking agendas to give her hubby a lift. It seems she advises him on everything else.
The future of pensions in this country is a joke. First we had good old Gordon filching £5billion a year out of pension funds which means that everyone with a private pension has to increase their contributions greatly just to keep up their pension expectations when they finally retire.
Who knows, the retirement age could be 80 if this shower are allowed to carry on the way they are.
Then we are now looking at a two-tier pension scheme with civil servants allowed to retire at 60 and the rest whenever Tony or Gordon lets them.
Oh yes, in passing I wonder where Tony's CND badge has gone, seeing he now thinks that nuclear power is the way forward with future energy needs.
Talk about joined up government, this lot are in more pieces than a jigsaw.
