THERE'S one diamond shining brightest of all at Burnley at the moment - John Spicer.
I think he's the find of the season and has definitely proved the best signing of all the players that came in the summer.
The others will eventually come through but at this time this lad looks to be the one at the top of the ladder.
Spicer's come I and looked like a player who seems to give you everything.
He tackles back, he sets up goals and he's now started scoring them as well, with three in the last three games.
Crewe were woeful last weekend and will get relegated in my opinion, but the way Spicer took his two goals was impressive no matter what the standard of opposition.
He finished them off well and showed what a quality player he seems to be.
If he can keep it going, and get even better, he will have a big future in the game.
l I OFTEN get asked: "Who was the best player you played against?"
The answer is always instant. George Best.
Funnily enough, I don't remember much about him when I first faced him at Turf Moor in 1963 - I was too busy scoring four goals as we won the game 6-1!
But a couple of days later we went to Old Trafford and he certainly made an impression on me then as United beat us 5-1.
George was the best because he had no weaknesses. He could shoot, head, tackle, scores, take players on and show off all the tricks.
He was a great entertainer and that's how he will always be remembered.
