A lively, well-organised Brigg team inflicted yet another disappointing home defeat on a Magpies' side some way below its best.
Brigg took control with an 8th minute goal, David Betts cashing in on a ricochet off defender Darryl Allen to drive a rising shot past Phil Priestley from the edge of the box.
The visitors comfortably controlled the rest of a quiet half, Shaun Teale's side's only serious threat being a curling effort from a difficult angle by Peter Wright which beat the keeper but drifted just over the bar.
The tempo increased after the break but it was Brigg who were firing the shots. Phil Priestley turned over a powerful drive from Simon Roach, saved well at the near post from Stuart Ainsley and then smothered a shot from full-back Tommy Spall, who also had a goalbound effort diverted for a corner.
Gary Martindale and Jamie Vermiglio both had good chances before Chorley equalised on 83 minutes.
A crafty flick by Vermiglio left Adam Roscoe a clear sight of goal and he promptly whipped a rising drive into the top corner from the edge of the box for his fourth goal in six appearances.
But a disputed penalty gave Brigg their winner as Ainsley rammed home the spot-kick, Priestley getting a hand on the ball but unluckily only diverting it into the side of the net.
Final score: Chorley 1 Brigg Town 2
