Chorley player-manager Shaun Teale will be hoping his strikers can hit form as the Magpies face two important matches in the next six days.

Ossett Albion visit Victory Park for a league encounter on Saturday before Chorley travel to Bamber Bridge for the second round of the United Co-operatives Lancashire FA Trophy on Tuesday.

Lack of firepower is all too evident as the Magpies must pick themselves up after the disappointment of a controversial late penalty that brought another home defeat on Saturday following a lacklustre display.

Failure to make the most of chances, not least an opportunity close to goal in the second half that Gary Martindale squandered, can often lead to a match being decided by a controversial decision, when really the result should not depend on another team's late goal.

An encouraging aspect of Saturday's game was substitute Adam Roscoe's late equaliser minutes before Brigg snatched the winner.

Roscoe has now scored four goals in seven appearances, including five on the bench.

He has a powerful shot, is a strong tackler, has lots of enthusiasm and is good in the air. With these attributes it's surely only a matter of timebefore he lines up as a regular member of the first-team's strike force.

Versatile defender James Mullineux, another youthful prospect, is currently absent on Lancashire FA duty and will miss the Ossett match on Saturday.
