CAGE Warrior Mike "The Count" Bisping seems destined for TV stardom after defending his light-heavyweight belt.

Mike, 26, of Nelson Road, Clitheroe, won Saturday's fight in just two minutes in front of 3,500 people at the Coventry Sky Dome. Now TV producers are fighting over him.

"It was really great, very exciting," said Mike.

"There was quite a lot of pressure on me because a couple of scouts from Holland came over from a TV show called It's Showtime.

"They're interested in giving me a contract but I'm waiting to see what happens with another TV show."

Mike is in talks with the producers of an American reality TV show, the USC Ultimate Fighting Challenge: "I go to London at the weekend and if that goes well, I fly to Las Vegas next week for screen tests."

The fight in Coventry was the third time Mike has defended his title, and so far he has never lost.

"We exchanged a couple of leg kicks, I did a high kick to his head and we grabbed each other, we went to the floor, but I got up and had him with a combination of punches to the stomach.

"I finished with an arm bar, a submissive move that's pretty painful."

If Mike does get through the screen tests in America, filming begins the second week of January. The show pits fighters against each other with an ultimate prize of $1million.
