AN INDOOR ice skating rink returns to Haslingden later this month.
The rink, at Haslingden Sports Centre, will be joined by children's fun fair rides in the hall.
The fun starts on December 26 with a day of free skating for children, in association with Rossendale Children's Day.
Last year the event was nearly scuppered after £3,000 worth of chemicals needed to maintain the rink was stolen before the opening.
The ice rink is organised by international ice skaters Alexei Kislitsyn and Natalia Pestova.
Despite the initial set back, the event which helps to raise cash to take Rossendale's youngsters on an organised trip each year, was a resounding success with all the sessions completely sold out.
The event begins on Boxing day at 1pm and on that day only children can skate for free.
Children can also pop over to Ski Rossendale, Rawtenstall, and have a sliding session on the snow tubes for free.
To book a place for skating contact Haslingden Sports Centre on 01706 227016.
For the free tube session call Ski Rossendale on 01706 226457.
