I read with interest the article in the Citizen, November 23, concerning the street signs in Euxton for Milestone Meadow (or Mile Stone Meadow) and for Belfrey (or Belfry) Close
In Astley Village we have a similar issue.
Depending on which direction you travel along Chancery Road you can turn into either Hallgate or Hall Gate with both signs actually facing each other at the entrance to the road. At least the recently installed wrought iron Astley Village signs are correct (unless they should perhaps read Astly or Astleigh) and they did look splendid with their hanging baskets for a day or so until vandals decided the floral arrangements were not to his taste.
Please take heart residents of Milestone Meadow. In line with the EU planning directive 87820749463 subsection six paragraph three all road signs must be verified and updated each millennium.
