Chorley Harriers hosted the latest round in the Red Rose Cross Country League on Saturday in Astley Park, Chorley and there was an excellent turnout in all age categories.
It gave the under 11s a chance to take part and get their first taste of cross-country and the Harriers fielded an impressive field with Oliver Mitcham taking fourth place while Vicky Gill took the first place in the senior ladies race.
The following day saw several of Chorley Harriers run the Preston 10 mile road-race.
First home for the club was Keith Johnston in 57.01 although he was pressed all the way by club mate Dominic Raby who finished in 57.17.
Mark Ellithorn was 22nd in 58.27 and Gary Platt 66.07. Ken Williams 69.22; Nicola Raby 72.17; Paul Jackson 72.31; Graham Schofield 73.09; Dave Hargreaves 73.21;Lisa Johnston 76.52;Michael Murray 78.41 and Gary Jones 78.53.
The next race in the club's grand prix is the Dave Staff Memorial race starting at 11.30am on Sunday November 27 from Sunnybank Woods to Darwen Tower and back.
