A FAMILY'S anguish was today continuing, two weeks after a mother of four went missing from her Burnley home.
Worried relatives of Susan Gray made a fresh appeal for information after she disappeared from her home in Allerton Drive on November 9.
Susan, 55, scribbled a note to her family saying 'Sorry, I can't let you see me like this any longer. I know I've got Alzheimer's then left after 11pm.
She left without her handbag, cash, belongings or medication.
Police said there has only been one possible sighting of her since, at 8.50am on Saturday, November 12, when a woman fitting her description was seen wandering from the railway track towards the platform at Burnley Central Station.
The train driver was so concerned for her welfare he stopped and she boarded the train the got off at the central station.
A search has been carried out - including parts of the nearby canal.
Her family have put posters up in Burnley, Accrington, Blackburn, Preston and Blackpool.
Her daughter Lisa, 22, said her mother's personality changed over the past year after the death of her mother.
The previously outgoing and caring grandmother became withdrawn, suffering panic attacks and anger that treatment was not working. Her symptoms do not match Alzheimers, which her father suffered from.
Lisa, of Landsdown Close, said: "She's dealt with a lot in her life and always bounced back. But all that's changed.
"I think she felt a burden, helpless and that no-one understood her."
Inspector Dave Croll from Burnley Police said: "This is the second time in quick succession she has gone missing, she is very depressed, and relies on medication which she has not taken with her. It is imperative we find her.
"I appeal for anyone who may have any knowledge about her whereabouts to come forward. Likewise if Susan sees this appeal, we urge her to at least contact us to let us."
Susan lives with husband Jimmy and daughter Kerry, 21. She has lived in Burnley all her life and would often shop in Accrington and Blackburn.
Her disappearance is taking a toll on the family and her children Lisa, Tanya, Anthony and Kerry are searching the county.
Lisa said: "We just want her to get in touch with us if she's reading this. Please get in contact, at least ring us."
Susan is 5ft 2ins, with collar-length dark brown, wavy hair and green eyes. She may be wearing glasses and is thought to be wearing trousers and a three quarter length grey duffle coat with a hood and calf length brown boots.
