Fylde welcome old friends and rivals Kendal to the Woodlands on Saturday November 26 (kick off 2.15pm) in a very important National Three (North) league match.

Its proving to be a very difficult campaign for Kendal, particularly in this famous Club's Centenary season. They have lost all seven league fixtures to date and have yet to pick up a bonus point, conceding an average of more than 40 points a game.

Their only win was 28-20 at North One club Chester in the third Round of the Powergen Trophy before coming to the Woodlands in the 4th round and getting hammered by 6-68. Their ex-captain Mike Scott, now leading Fylde, scored 28 points in a personal tour de force.

But Kendal is a proud and determined club and they are never so dangerous when faced by adversity such as their current position so it will be a real challenge for Fylde to get full league points. Everyone concerned for Northern rugby will hope that this distinguished outpost with such a famous history will be able to recover from these setbacks. Kendal's team will include flanker Gary Holmes, the brother of Fylde hooker Alan.

Unless there are any injuries at training this week, Fylde will have more or less all members of its first team squad available for selection bar prolonged injury victim Karl Long and the unavailable Ollie Brennand. Everyone at the Club will be praying that the harsh weather predicted for the coming weekend doesn't affect the game.

There are still some places available at the pre-match lunch (12.00 for 12.30). Once again, its a superb Chicory menu to be served in the splendid Woodlands Suite, with use of the balcony for subsequent viewing of this important National league game.

Visitors from Kendal will be made very welcome. £18 (incl VAT) per head for Members and their guests, including admission to the game. To book, e-mail the Functions Office (functions@fylderugby.co.uk) or call on 01253 734733.

The club's match at Macclesfield last Saturday fell victim to the icy weather.
