I don't know what it is about re-makes some work and some dont.
This is based on Theres Something About Mary, where a whole host of con-men try to get their claws into the ravishing Tanya (Rimii Sen).
It all begins happily for Karan (Shahid Kapoor) who falls in love with Tanya but when she moves to Dubai he gets a private investigator (Akshay Kumar) to track her down.
Problems begin when the private investigator falls for her as does almost everyone else, including Tanyas physically disabled friend, Sanju (Suniel Shetty).
Deewane Huye Paagal isnt a bad movie its just without the in your face moments of Theres Something About Mary the scenarios have no meaning.
