It could be the end for the Leyland Motors Cricket team.
Its future is in jeopardy after the closure of the Leyland Motors Social and Athletic Club on Friday after more than 80 years.
Club chairman David Braithwaite said "nothing had been ruled out" regarding the future and the committee was consulting financial professionals to see how the club and sports teams that use the ground could survive. The club's cricket team plays in the Northern Premier Cricket League and it also hosts teams in netball, bowls, and snooker.
