It is two years since a letter of mine was published in the Citizen in response to a letter saying that line dancing was no longer 'country'.
The response to that letter was amazing, to what was first thought to be just a 'one-off' with over 40 people coming along and we raised over £70 that night for charity.
All proceeds from these dances after the cost of the hall goes to charity - and we even have many of our folk bringing in raffle prizes, which is truly amazing.
It was decided that we would hold regular dances on a two-monthly period, and over the past couple of years we have raised over £1,000 for various charities.
People come along from as far away as Liverpool and everyone seems to really enjoy it.
Our next dance, on Friday, December 9, is our Christmas Dance. Admission is £2 .
We welcome newcomers. For further details, contact me on 01257 450971.
