A new Muslim matrimonial website is hoping it can bring people together.
The website www.mebooba.co.uk (beloved) is the brainchild of North West entrepreneur Tayyab Bax who feels it will prove a hit with people looking to get married.
He said, Traditionally, introduction of the groom and bride was done via family friends and circles or word of mouth and has served muslims very well.
However, we are now seeing more individuals looking for alternative routes but at the same time wishing to be consistent with Islamic teachings. Further, with the growing number of reverts (conversions to Islam), they have great trouble in finding suitable partners as they do not have anyone to turn to when it comes to finding a suitable muslim partner.
Many matrimonial websites already exist but Tayyab feels his is unique because it is locally based and free to use for everyone.
There are a couple of matrimonial websites in the UK, but unfortunately none of them are completely free. Either, the user has to pay £10.00 per month or £120.00 per year to use their services or submit their details to a pure dating site as opposed to a matrimonial one.
Mehbooba Nikah is unique. Its completely free and provides all of the features that the paid services do PLUS attempts to adhere to Islamic teachings.
Users are provided with a comprehensive Knowledge section, covering varied aspects of marriage including advice, questions and answers and practical guidelines.
A strong emphasis is laid on the involvement of parents/guardians (wali) of both parties from the very outset.
Tayyab added, Involving them means that the couple preserve their dignity and honour throughout the matrimonial process. All users are asked to read the guidelines provided regarding this matter before they join and adhere to them. In this way the site detaches itself from a dating website and attempts to conform to Islamic tradition.
In addition to the matrimonial service, mehbooba.co.uk also has an extensive poetry section, Mehbooba Poetry. Poems in Urdu, Gujarati, Persian, English and Arabic by well known poets such as Allama Iqbal, Maulana Rumi, Adam Tankaravi, Ahmad Gul, Adil Mansuri and others, are there for the users pleasure and reflection.
