PADIHAM'S stylish new coffee shop The Fat Giraffe has proved so popular that it has expanded just six months after opening.
Bosses of the Church Street cafe have been inundated with customers following the successful introduction of their traditional Sunday roasts and people wanting to book functions.
James Wilson, partner and chef at The Fat Giraffe, swapped his culinary skills for joinery skills last week to build a new seating area to accommodate another five tables bringing the total number of covers up to 36.
Jo Royle, Junior Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire's Young Business Person of the Year 2004 and partner in the business, said: "Since The Fat Giraffe opened we've modified and adapted the business in lots of different ways to best meet the needs of our customers.
"Being able to take private bookings for parties of up to 30 diners fills a niche in the market - 30 is too many to try to book into most restaurants, but often too few to book a function room."
