This brass-heavy cut from the mighty 'Erbs new album Take London almost sounds a little too typical of their perfected brand of instrumental hip hop to stand out. But there are two fabulous saving graces.
The first reason to be cheerful is the presence of American MC Jean Grae and her relentless lyrical assault, which keeps Nah' Mean Nah'm Sayin' from becoming a mid-tempo jazz love-in.
The second stand-out moment rather overshadows Herbaliser themselves - LA duo Platinum Pied Pipers have made a jaw-dropping contribution with their remix of the title track.
They shuffle Grae in with occasional male vocals, scratches, and a heavenly down-tempo backdrop that fits the rhymes like kid glove.
Released November 21, 2005.
