ROSSENDALE residents can apply for planning permission on the internet next month.

The borough council will offer the service to meet Government rules, known as the Pendleton Criteria.

Complying will mean residents can expect online help on planning matters, submit planning applications electronically at any time, search the application register, search the planning decision register and decision notices, as well as view, monitor and comment on planning applications made to the authority using the internet.

The online service will also include a planning appeals register, the chance to view officers' reports, agendas and committee minutes, downloadable application forms and the adopted Local Development Plan

Implementation of these new processes will be made available in December and will be fully operational from January 2006. For more details visit www.rossendale.gov.uk
