A 62-year-old woman who has not seen her uncle and aunt for more that 40 years is hoping to be reunited with them thanks to the Citizen.
Anne Simm, of Babylon Lane, Adlington, has not seen Jack and Wyn Hunter, whose diamond wedding celebrations were featured in last week's paper, since she was nine years old at his former house in St Anne's Road, Chorley.
Mrs Simm, born Anne Burgess, said her family gradually lost contact with her Uncle Jack and Aunt Wyn after the death of her mother, Alice, who died three weeks after giving birth to Anne.
It was her husband, Roy, 63, who showed her the picture in the paper. He said: "I couldn't believe it and I went running over to Anne to show her the picture.
"Everything seemed to tally up because we knew where he used to live and we knew he served in the Royal Navy and Anne remembered going to see Wyn on the biscuit stall in Chorley.
"We couldn't believe it."
Jack, 86 and Wynn, 85, who now live in Dalbeattie, Scotland, are currently on holiday in Blackpool, and Roy and Anne are hoping to meet up with them before they finish their trip on Friday.
Mrs Burgess said: "It would be great to catch up on everything."
Mr Hunter, speaking from his hotel in Blackpool, said: "It would be lovely to see them again."
