BUSINESSES and staff are being warned to ignore an e-mail claiming they have landed multi-million pound lottery wins.
The e-mail claims to be from "Postmaster UK Lottery" and tells the recipient they have won £2.5million.
It goes on to ask for contact, bank, and personal details, so the "winnings" can be sent by wire, or cheque.
But police are warning that the prize draw is a fake.
Similar cons have been exposed before, and police issued their warning after the latest one emerged in Burnley.
The e-mail says the recipient has won the "UK National Lottery: Online Sweepstakes International Program". It advises the "winner" to keep their success quiet until the claim is processed.
Insp Dave Croll said: "The best advice I can give to anyone is ignore them. Delete it from your computer immediately, and don't answer in any way.
"As soon as they get any details they will withdraw money. From previous experience it's almost impossible to recover that money.
"We have investigated them in the past, but they are all foreign based, and we struggled to find the originator of the message."
