Chris McGrath and Jamie Squires have been released by Chorley after player-manager Sean Teale was forced to trim his playing staff due to poor attendances which have hit the club's finances.
With home crowds averaging less than two hundred this season Teale was given the option of either selling players or cutting the wage bill in order to make up for the shortfall in the club's playing budget.
The decision follows the Magpies' first home win of the season against Belper Town on Saturday which saw Chorley climb to a mid-table position in the Unibind Division One.
The release of McGrath and Squires follows the recent departure of Ian Dickinson and Kyle Armstrong but Teale insists that cutting the squad was his best option.
Teale said: "I didn't want a cut in the overall wage bill and I thought this was the best option especially as we have enough players to cover at the moment in all areas."
McGrath and Squires joined Chorley during John Hughes' tenure as manager last season. McGrath has made 21 league and cup appearances, including eight on the subs bench, and Squires 17.
