PLANS to extend a doctor's surgery in Church look set to be refused by Hyndburn Council.
Residents living near the clinic, in Dill Hall Lane, have objected to the proposals because they fear it will add to existing parking and road safety problems.
The surgery has applied for permission to expand into the neighbouring, two-storey, semi-detached house.
Plans also include removal of the garden wall of both properties to form a car park. The proposals will be discussed at a meeting of the council's planning committee next week.
Development control manager Brent Clarkson recommends members refuse the application.
In a report he says an application to turn the house into a pharmacy and retail shop was refused on the grounds that it would increase parking and have an effect on road safety.
The current proposals should be refused for the same reason.
