ONE of East Lancashire's favourite bands is back in the studio after more than five years of silence and playing at the Inn On The Wharf in Burnley on November 26.
Two original members of Syndicate, Damian Manville and Paul Yates, are in the process of recording their second studio album after ditching record companies and taking control of the creative process.
"We felt last time that we had eventually given away all of our control," singer Damian said.
"It was this control and passion for what we did that made the band what it was -- not the cash injections and 'creative' interference of a record label."
The pair are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album, entitled . . .With The Dead, and plan the relaunch with gigs at the Burnley Mechanics and Colne Municipal Hall.
With a new bass player, drummer and guitarist, what's the music like?
"It's different to Syndicate of old -- a maturer version," said Damian. "It's still got all the hallmark stuff -- three-part harmonies and classy guitars -- but we're both in a different mental place now. Dare I say spiritual?"
You can catch Syndicate at the Inn On The Wharf, Burnley, on Saturday, November 26. Tickets are £6 and you get a free demo copy of the album.
