POLICE are due to interview a man in connection with the removal of the county's Welcome to Lancashire signs.
Over 30 of the Lancashire County Council-erected signs, including eight around Blackburn with Darwen, were removed last weekend before being dumped on the Yorkshire border at Blacko, near Colne, on Monday.
The county council has made an official complaint to police and officers will interview 58-year-old Anthony Bennett, from Harlow in Essex, in Blackburn on Friday, November 25.
Mr Bennett is the leader of CountyWatch, a group campaigning against the gradual destruction of England's historic county borders.
Detective Inspector Jim Elston, from Blackburn CID, said: "Mr Bennett will be interviewed in relation to any offences which may or may not be disclosed as a result of our inquiry"
