WORK to spruce up homes on two of the main roads into Burnley has started.
Funded through Elevate, the massive housing regeneration scheme for East Lancashire, the facelift programmes in Accrington Road in South West Burnley and Colne Road in Duke Bar aim to improve the appearance of homes.
The work, costing just under £1million and due to last four months, includes stone cleaning, repointing, gutter replacement and painting.
Council leader Stuart Caddy said: "If commuters, visitors and most importantly, local residents stop and look twice, think differently, and see Burnley in a more positive light, then facelifting achieves more than improving appearance of a row of homes; it improves the appearance of the entire borough."
