A NEW open air art trail has been opened for Burnley folk to enjoy.
The Burnley Wayside Arts Trail is a circular walk starting at Towneley Hall and leading to the proposed site for the Burnley panopticon -- a planned piece of public art -- at Crown Point. There are way markers, brick markers, a brick kiln and a ceramic map along the walk and a leaflet has been produced for walkers, which is available on request or from the Mid-Pennine Arts Gallery.
Funding has been provided from the Millennium and Forestry Commissions.
The trail is a collaboration between the Land Project, Burnley Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, United Utilities, private landowners and local businesses.
