BURNLEY are close to landing a Championship goalkeeper on a month-long loan.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill has spent the past week contacting managers up and down the country to try to land a replacement for Brian Jensen in time for Saturday's clash with Leicester City at Turf Moor.
And that search finally looks like bearing fruit, with a new stopper likely to join up with Cotterill's squad by tomorrow at the latest.
"We are close to signing a goalkeeper, hopefully for a month," revealed the Burnley manager, who had been contemplating bringing in a goalkeeper for seven days to cover for Jensen's one-match suspension following his sending off at Luton Town 10 days ago.
"Nothing is done yet, but ideally I want him in as soon as possible so that we can work with him for a few days."
Sources in the Midlands suggest that Derby County's Lee Grant may be on Cotterill's hit list, although the Clarets chief is remaining tight-lipped until any loan move is finalised.
Former England U21 stopper Grant is currently third in line at Pride Park, behind veteran Kevin Poole and Lee Camp.
