A THREE foot sword and a quantity of heroin and cannabis were recovered when police raided the premises of a Blackburn business.

But today the owner, Shakeer Patel, said the sword was a display sword which he intended to mount on the wall.

And although he admitted that cannabis had been smoked on the premises he denied all knowledge of the heroin.

Officers served the drugs warrant at a property housing VIP Prestige vehicles car leasing company, New Bank Road, at 11am yesterday.

The officers said they had seized a sword and a cannabis bush which they alleged had been growing on the premises.

They said a wrap of heroin was also found in a plant pot by officers. Nobody was arrested.

PC Paul Schofield, Community Beat Manager for Revidge and Corporation Park said: "A drugs warrant was served in response to complaints that have been made to myself, as CBM for the area and through Crimestoppers.

"And many residents have raised concerns at various PACT meetings about vehicles coming and going late at night and groups of people visiting and hanging around."
